Cover Reveal: The Alchemist’s Notebook

Bottle Cap Publishing Posted on February 29, 2016 by Bottle Cap PublishingSeptember 27, 2018

Coming this spring, Bottle Cap Publishing will release Kevin Wohler’s debut novel, The Alchemist’s Notebook, Book 1 of The Village Alchemist series. Recently, we finalized this fantastic cover, designed by Clarissa at Yocla Designs.

This urban fantasy novel takes place in a world where alchemy, sorcery, and mysticism are an equal part of reality as chemistry, physics, and biology. Here’s the back cover copy:
The Alchemist's Notebook by Kevin Wohler

As Salt City’s only alchemist, Malcolm Ward has been minding his own business for the last ten years. His shop, The Village Alchemist, caters to mages, mystics, and magic wannabes—including Tommy DeLuce, the mayor’s son. But when a fire elemental kills Tommy, the city council demands that Mal investigate.

The trail from the fire elemental to Tommy isn’t exactly a straight line; it’s more like a circle. An elemental means alchemy, but everyone assumed Mal was the only alchemist in town. Now he’s taking it personally.

Malcolm’s alchemical mojo is a bit rusty, so he’ll need help from his friends in the metaphysical community to uncover the truth about Tommy’s death. And he needs to do it soon, before more customers go missing.

The Alchemist’s Notebook is the first book in The Village Alchemist series. It is scheduled to debut on Amazon.com in May, and will be available in ebook and print format.

Cover Reveal: Uninspired Muse

Bottle Cap Publishing Posted on February 4, 2016 by Bottle Cap PublishingSeptember 27, 2018

Bottle Cap Publishing is pleased to reveal the cover of Uninspired Muse, the third (and final) book in R.L. Naquin’s Muse series. This cover—as well as the covers for Unfinished Muse and Unamused Muse—was designed by Clarissa at Yocla Designs.

Now that Wynter has done her stint in the Underworld, she’s back at the Mt. Olympus Employment Agency. But what does her future look like now that she’s a Legacy in the company? Only the Fates know for sure…

Uninspired Muse by R.L. Naquin

Wynter Greene has finally hit her groove. She’s back at work in the Muse department and doing a fantastic job. Her newly reunited family gives her a sense of belonging and self-confidence she’s never had before. And she hasn’t annihilated any romantic relationships in quite a while—mostly because she’s avoided them.

But if mythology teaches anything, it’s not to get cocky when the gods are listening.

Wynter’s clients have been taken away, replaced by a morose artist with an ominous deadline. And her grandmother’s crush on a mortal puts the goddess’s powers on the fritz, which places Phyllis the philodendron in danger. While Wynter’s busy trying to help everyone else, her own fear of heartbreak could destroy her chance at true love forever.

The Fates seem to be trying to tell her something. But is love really the answer to everything?

Uninspired Muse is coming this spring from Bottle Cap Publishing. It will be available in ebook and print format.

If you haven’t already picked up the first two books in the Muse series, pick up Unfinished Muse and Unamused Muse to find out how Wynter’s adventures began.

New Release: Unamused Muse

Bottle Cap Publishing Posted on December 13, 2015 by Bottle Cap PublishingJune 4, 2017

Unamused Muse by R.L. NaquinBottle Cap Publishing is proud to announce the release of Unamused Muse, the latest novel in R.L. Naquin‘s Mt. Olympus Employment Agency series.

In the first novel, Unfinished Muse, Wynter Greene’s life hit rock bottom and she ended up at the Mt. Olympus Employment Agency.

Now a newly minted Muse, Wynter has been loaned to the Underworld as Hades’ personal assistant. If she can keep from screwing up, she can return to Mt. Olympus in six weeks. Unfortunately, that’s not so easy.

Even though she’s been stripped of her Muse title, Wynter discovers she can’t stop herself from inspiring people. Not even when the people she’s encouraging are supposed to be trapped in eternal torment.

Naquin continues to bring her trademark humor and magic to the home of the gods and goddesses on Mt. Olympus.

Here’s a synopsis of Unamused Muse:

Wynter Greene, newly minted Muse at the Mt. Olympus Employment Agency, is on loan for six weeks to Hades, CEO of Underworld, LLC. Not a bad gig, if she doesn’t mind running errands across the River Styx. She hardly ever has to clean up after the three-headed dogs that guard the front gates. But she could do without so many people eager to fix her up on what literally amount to blind dates from Hell.

All Wynter wants to do is get her six weeks over with so she and Phyllis, her talking plant, can go home, and she can go back to work inspiring people. If she can keep from screwing up on this job, she’ll get a clean slate at Mt. Olympus.

Stripped of her Muse title, Wynter discovers she still can’t stop herself from inspiring people, even when the people she’s encouraging are supposed to be trapped in eternal torment.

Not the best way to win points with her new boss.

Unamused Muse is now available. See our current releases.

Unamused Muse is book 2 of a trilogy set within the agency’s Muse department. Book 3, Uninspired Muse, will be released in 2017.
